October 20 – 21, 2026

Campus Club, Coffman Union, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities

The focus of the workshop will be defining and developing a research roadmap for Off-Highway Vehicle Powertrain, which will inform the research direction for the soon to launch Powertrain Research for Off-highway VEhicles (PROVE) Center. The workshop will include a keynote address from Nicholas Hansford from the Department of Energy and a panel discussion with leading OEMs.  Information on challenges, research opportunities, and priorities with regards to off-highway vehicle powertrain will be gathered from attendees via the three rounds of breakout sessions, followed by a summary session in response. There will also be ample time for networking at the workshop during the dinner on day 1, including a poster session with current students.  Day 2 will conclude with a presentation on the vision for PROVE, with a special announcement regarding the launch of the center in January 2027.
