Sun Hydraulics Corporation has engineering internship opportunities available for Summer 2008. We generally try to fill these openings by spring break. Positions available are in valve and manifold product design groups as well as manufacturing engineering group. Hands on, self-motivated junior, senior, and graduate students from mechanical, electrical and particularly manufacturing engineering programs are encouraged to apply. Previous internship experience in a manufacturing environment is useful, but not necessary.

After an initial “shop tour” in which the student will work briefly in each of the manufacturing departments, an experienced engineer will act as a mentor for the student to complete a project. Past projects have included extensive laboratory experimentation, modelling and simulation, and the design and build of a small machine for use in the manufacturing process.
