K-12 Teachers
The National Science Foundation and the Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power recognize that it is the teachers of our youth who can make the greatest impact on generating excitement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics among our student population. To address this need, the CCEFP actively works with K-12 teachers on several opportunities for learning about fluid power.
The Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) Program RET is an NSF program whose purpose is to improve STEM education in schools by funding high school teachers to spend the summer in a university research lab. The teacher completes a research project and develops curriculum to be used in their class. Curriculum designed and implement by the CCEFP RET's is posted to our Resources page. Also, the CCEFP is engaged in outreach to K-12 schools and we openly invite teachers to contact for the opportunity of a school visit or lab tour for schools in the geographic location of the CCEFP partner institutions (Atlanta, GA; Greensboro, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Nashville, TN; West Lafayette, IN; Urbana-Champaign, IL; Milwaukee, WI)
