Student Leadership Council (SLC)
Student Leadership Council
Role:
The primary role of the CCEFP's Student Leadership Council is to serve as one of five advisory boards to the CCEFP. A list of current SLC officers is available at the SLC's Advisory Board page. The SLC also functions as a service organization, a social club, and a student government entity for all students at the CCEFP. The SLC organizes and produces the Center's bi-weekly webcast and is also responsible for planning the annual student retreat.
Vision Statement:
The SLC shall benefit its members by promoting leadership, service, and collaboration among members, and by providing opportunities to enter into meaningful professional relationships with ERC Institution faculty and partner company representatives.

SLC Programs / Projects:
Travel Grant Program:
The Travel Grant Program will provide travel funds which will allow students to travel to another project or industry location, making collaboration more accessible. The maximum grant for any trip will be $1,000, and preference will be given to collaboration between projects over collaboration with industry. Requests for funds will be considered and approved by the SLC management committee, with the recommendations of an SLC-appointed subcommittee if deemed appropriate. If members of the management committee or an appointed subcommittee submit a request, they will be recused from the decision. Requests will include the purpose and duration of the trip, cost, and expected outcomes for all CCEFP projects involved.

SLC Project Grant Program:
The SLC Project Grants Program will be used to fund student initiated projects that align themselves with the Center’s goals. Such projects could include the education/outreach and social events which are currently funded by the $575 given to each institution each year for SLC activities. Proposals will be accepted throughout the year until the funds have been exhausted. Requests for funds will be considered and the amount funded will be decided by the SLC management committee, with the recommendations of an SLC-appointed subcommittee if deemed appropriate. If members of the management committee or an appointed subcommittee submit a proposal, they will be recused from the decision. Proposals will include the purpose and description of project, a budget, and expected impact. Note that this program will be conducted in place of the award of $575 to each University for local activities.
