Transportable Universal Fluid Power Laboratory for Professional Training Courses

The Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is known throughout the United States for its comprehensive set of professional fluid power short courses.  Its most popular, Introduction to Hydraulics, is offered several times a year on the MSOE campus. Because it utilizes six state-of-the-art hydraulic trainer stations that can be taken on the road, the course can also be offered on site at company locations.  Other advanced courses will use unique, state-of-the-art electrohydraulic motion control laboratory stations. Currently, these stations are too large to be moved; consequently, controls strategies courses can only be delivered at MSOE. This project developed a transportable version of a fluid power laboratory station, expanded to include pneumatics, so that several courses, including the one on controls strategies, can be delivered on-site at companies and other universities. Continuing activities include replication of the prototype station and assessment of its use and efficacy in delivering fluid power education.

Specifications for the machine are available for download by clicking here (PDF).
