Industry and Students

There are many opportunities fostered by the CCEFP that enable engineering students to learn about hydraulics and pneumatics. These opportunities bring benefits to industry too, as CCEFP corporate supporters have access to a diverse pool of talented engineering students. Following are four such initiatives.  Others appear throughout this website.

The CCEFP Fluid Power Scholars Program: The Scholars Program is a collaborative effort between the CCEFP and its corporate sponsors. This highly selective program identifies and connects the very best undergraduate engineering students across the United States to the fluid power industry with the goal of training the next generation of fluid power leaders.

Industry mentorship of CCEFP research projects: Realizing the value of knowledge transfer between academia and industry, the CCEFP welcomes its industry supporters to provide input and insight into the Center's many research projects. For more information, contact Dewey Tinderholm, CCEFP Industrial Liaison Officer (dtinderh@umn.edu).

Capstone Design Projects: All ABET accredited undergraduate engineering degree programs have a capstone design experience where fourth-year students work in teams for one or two semesters on a practical design project. The CCEFP is working with the National Fluid Power Association in order to facilitate work with companies who will sponsor and actively engage students in capstone design projects with fluid power content. More information.

Internship listings: The CCEFP posts links to the information its corporate sponsors provide about their internship programs at the Center website. All supporting companies are invited to advise the CCEFP of the availability of these informational links.
