3C: Fundamental and Applied Modeling of Cavitation Noise for Hydraulic Components |
ABSTRACT
|
Modelling efforts, reflecting both fundamental and applied issues, are reported as they relate to predicting cavitation noise in hydraulic components. Specifically, fundamental large eddy simulations of cavitation in a venturi are presented together with acoustic models for noise. Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes results for venturi caviation noise are also presented. In addition, a commercial 3D CFD model for an axial piston pump is presented for cavitation predictions. Plans for laser-based experimental measurements of flow and void fraction will also be discussed. |
